Sindh Bar Council

The elections of the Sindh Bar Council (SBC) are highly significant in Pakistan’s legal landscape, serving as a critical democratic process that determines the leadership of the provincial legal fraternity for a five-year term (2026-2030). Held in November to fill seats expiring the following January, these elections are pivotal for regulating the legal profession in Sindh.

The election allows for 16 seats representing Karachi alone and others across the province, ensuring district-level representation for lawyers.

As of January 2026, the newly elected office-bearers for the Sindh Bar Council (SBC) include Barrister Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon as Vice Chairman and Ayaz Hussain Tunio as Chairman of the Executive Committee. These key positions were finalized during the 108th meeting of the council, with Advocate General Sindh serving as the ex officio Chairman.
