The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) elections are a vital template for democratic institutionalism in the country. The KBA elections typically involve a total of 17 seats. These are divided between the top-tier “Office Bearer” positions and the “Managing Committee” members. The breakdown of the seats is as follows:

Office Bearers (6 Seats)
These are the primary executive positions that lead the association’s policy and administrative decisions:

Vice President
General Secretary
Joint Secretary
Treasurer
Librarian

Managing Committee (11 Seats)
In addition to the main office bearers, 11 members are elected to the Managing Committee. These members work alongside the executive to oversee the day-to-day operations, professional development, and disciplinary matters of the bar.

Voter Base: As the largest bar association in South Asia, the voter turnout usually involves thousands of advocates (often exceeding 10,000 registered voters).
Term: Elections are held annually, usually toward the end of the year (December), however were postponed and new date would be announced soon.
Administrative Committee: Till the holding of Elections for the term 2025-26, an Administrative Committee have been formed to look after matters, relating to Elections.
